ULTRASOUND

Harborside Veterinary Hospital recently added a state-of-the-art Samsung HS60 digital ultrasound unit to its array of diagnostic equipment. Ultrasound is a non-invasive procedure that does not require anesthesia and is less stressful and more comfortable for your pet. It uses soundwaves to provide a real-time moving picture of your pet's internal organs. Used primarily for examining the abdomen and heart, ultrasound allows us to look inside your pet and examine the function of internal organs. Ultrasound is useful in examining the heart, providing an image of the heart as it is beating and supplying a detailed view of the valves, the strength of the heart muscle and more. Harborside Veterinary Hospital utilizes the services of a specialist when performing some cardiac ultrasounds. Because Dr. James Frevola attends continuing education courses in ultrasound twice a year, your pet has access to the latest advances in veterinary ultrasound.
